The company is a culinary innovator in the world of hybrid foods, was born out of a passionate pursuit to offer conscious flexitarians the best of both worlds. as a founder and flexitarian, equipped with a background in food nutrition and product development, embarked on an inspiring journey during my thesis work. Focused on the protein transition from animal to plant-based diets, I uncovered a significant gap in the market, leading to the creation of the company in February 2022.
The mission was simple yet profound: develop a hybrid hamburger that combines 50% animal and 50% plant-based ingredients. This quest wasn't just about crafting a burger; it was about addressing a fundamental shift in dietary choices. In a society increasingly inclined toward sustainable living, our solution was more than a welcome addition. We kickstarted our journey with the "HyBurger" because in the Netherlands alone, we devour a staggering 400 million hamburgers each year. Our future mission extends to an entire product line of hybrid foods, transcending traditional boundaries.
We forged a pivotal partnership with a well-established meat wholesaler company market leader for restaurants. They specialize in high-quality meat and meat products. They offer our Hybrid Hamburger to their clients and also important we can make use of their production facilities. They expect that at least 1% of their hamburger turnover will be Hybrid. We are also in talks with other meat wholesaler companies who are interested to start a pilot with us.
Our flagship product, the Hyburger, consistently earns an average rating of 7.5 on a scale of 10, a testament to our dedication to delivering a taste thats not only delectable but also reminiscent of beloved animal-based products. Our goal is to cater to the flourishing community of flexitarians in the Netherlands. According to CBS, over half of Dutch consumers identify as flexitarians, and this movement is rapidly gaining momentum.
Bedrijfsactiviteiten
We are dedicated to developing, producing, marketing and selling the Hybridhamburger that combine 50% animal and 50% plant-based components. We have developed a high tasty Hybrid hamburger, we arranged the use of a production facility, we have thefirst commitment of market leader meat wholesaler for restaurants in the Amsterdam region and we are now want to sell our hamburger via meat wholesalers. We also have interest from other wholesalers across the Netherlands. We now want to show traction in the market starting in the Amsterdam region as a pivot for the further rollout in the market.
Bijzonderheden
The company stands out in the competitive landscape of hybrid food providers through several key differentiators. While we share a commitment to sustainability and innovation with companies our unique approach sets us apart in the following ways:
We created a recipe for a Hybrid Hamburger, 50% meat and 50% vegetables. The taste panel gave a score at average 7.5 at a 10 scale. We have commitment from a big meat wholesaler in Amsterdam. His clients (restaurants) will be offered the Hybrid hamburger. We canmake use of their production facilities and logistics. We expect to get 1-3% of the hamburger market. There is also serious interest from other significant meat wholesalers. The involved female entrepreneur has a background as food engineer and dietist and is able to convince. The pilot we want to run has to be financed to prove traction in the market. An investor with experience in these matters is welcome.
Aangeboden belang
The first investment round will be € 20k. This is to pre finance the first batch production and some marketing costs. With covering 1% of the hamburger market in Amsterdam the investment will already give a profit. By reaching the goals of this first investment round commitment for the next would be welcome.
Overige informatie
The Dutch Market Potential and Consumer Demand: The Netherlands boasts a dynamic and forward-thinking food industry. Similar to Germany and the UK, the Dutch market reflects a rising awareness of the environmental impact of dietary choices, an increasing number of flexitarians, and a desire for more sustainable and ethical food alternatives. With over 50% of the Dutch population falling into the flexitarian category, the potential for hybrid quality foods is substantial.
We expect that at least between the 1% and 3% of hamburger market is there for the Hybrid hamburger. This is based on a pivot with meat wholesale- and restaurant holders. The 1% is seen as very conservative estimation.
